Home Economics - Secondary
Home Economics is an elective available to students in grade 9 through grade 12.
 The fundamental goal of this course is to introduce the students to healthy and economical home cooking:
  • All students will develop measuring skills through various cooking activities
  • All students will demonstrate competency in various aspects of the food pyramid
  • All students will be introduced to the importance of proper nutrition
  • All students will correctly identify the label information on commercial food products
  • All students will participate in various cooking and baking activities
  • All students will be introduced to budgeting for food and cooking utensils
